Who We Are
About 50/50 Group
The 50/50 Group of Sierra Leone is a non-governmental organization founded in 2001. The Group is a non-partisan, primarily woman-led and focused organisation that has spent over 20 years advocating for and working toward gender parity in politics and other areas of society; much-needed changes in policies and legislation to promote all aspects of women’s socio-economic and political empowerment; and women’s increased participation in all decision-making positions, processes and initiatives in Sierra Leone.

Capacity Building Drive
We equip women, youth, and community leaders with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to participate in governance and decision-making processes at all levels
Women-Led Advocacy and Reforms
Raising awareness and advocating for policies that promote women’s rights and socio-economic empowerment while challenging harmful cultural norms.
Support women’s economic empowerment initiatives through projects such as VSLAs
We empower women financially through access to resources and education, enabling them to uplift their families and communities
Peacebuilding Initiatives
We foster sustainable peace by promoting social cohesion, preventing electoral violence, and addressing political polarization
Empowering Civil Society Organizations (CSOs)
We strengthen women’s and youth-led organizations to become stable forces of change in their communities
Supporting Women’s Political Participation
We ensure women are equipped to lead and excel in political and governance roles at all levels.
