Advocacy and Policy Reforms

We drive inclusive and gender-sensitive policy reforms through strategic advocacy, civic engagement, and evidence-based dialogue with decision-makers. We build coalitions and alliances to ensure that public policies reflect the lived realities of women, girls, and marginalised communities. Our work addresses systemic inequality and champions rights-based reform across all sectors.

Most recently, we were part of a consortium of CSOs advocating for the Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment (GEWE) Bill that was passed by parliament in 2022 as well as the Sexual Offences (Amendment) Act of 2019. We have also engaged directly with policymakers on critical issues including women’s financial inclusion and land reform, ensuring that the voices of women and marginalised groups are central to legislative and policy discussionsThrough the ICARES Project, supported by Christian Aid, we engaged government institutions such as the Ministry of Finance and the Bank of Sierra Leone to advocate for women’s financial inclusion reforms.
